The Law Office of Brent J. Matthews opened in March 2014 and is dedicated to providing superior legal representation. The founder and principal owner of the firm, Brent J. Matthews, focuses on personal injury and business law.

After working for several firms in California and Utah, Brent gained extensive experience in the areas of personal injury, premises liability, insurance litigation, civil negotiations, contract drafting, business disputes and non-compete issues.

Academically, Brent earned his Bachelor of Arts Summa Cum Laude in Criminal Justice with a minor in Accounting from Southern Utah University and was named the “Most Outstanding Student” by the college of Humanities and Social Sciences. Brent also played on the men’s soccer team while studying at SUU. In addition, Brent worked as a legal intern at the Iron County Attorney’s Office in Cedar City, Utah during his undergraduate studies.

Brent then attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California where he participated on the Mock Trial team, served as President of the Tax Law Society and was appointed Director of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Clinic on campus. He also worked as a research publication editor for the Walter H. and Dorothy B. Diamond LL.M. Program in International Tax and Financial Services where he became published through Lexis Nexis for his work on the Foreign Tax and Trade Briefs.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Brent loves Mexican food and enjoys surfing at the beach. When he is not practicing law, Brent enjoys spending time at the park with his wife and children. He has also been known to never turn down a game of soccer or basketball.

Mr. Matthews is fluent in Spanish and is licensed to practice in Utah and Colorado.
